They arent abandoning GW, they are just two years too late with everything they do.
I actually personally got to mention improving unused elites like
The Power is Yours directly to Izzy right after they added dishonour to the game and he was in my RA team. He didnt reply at all, and something gets done about it now after years of complaining.
Thats just the way GW seems to work, delaying everything for years before anything is done about it.

Wow! Where were YOU when we needed you? You should have been there for G.W.! And when I say that I mean G.W. Bush (replace internet rhetoric with well...you know...)
The end is nigh!
I pretty much keep my characters around to reserve names for possible characters if GW2 ever comes out. Otherwise....back to Oblivion for me.
I think we all are waiting for the other shoe to drop here...facts vs. speculation: facts rarely come to light in forums...look at the number of speculation/DOOM threads. SO many GW2 threads srated without an incling of knowledge, but it doesn't stop every yahoo with a keyboard from posting useless threads to discuss something that no one knows anything about beyond what we ALL know....So, what other point is there to these threads beyond rhetoric? Not much...just a chance for folks to say "I wonder" and get flamed by folks who act as if they know more than anyone...or people who like to wonder right alaong with it...trouble is...through all the debate and discussion, no one knows jack-diddly-squat more than what ANet wants us to know....scary, ain't it?

TPIY should totally be a maintained enchantment that doesn't have an upkeep. You constantly have 0 Energy regeneration, and whatever your Energy regeneration would be is shared with target other ally.
Then you could TPIY twice and keep a monk in perma +10 energy regen.
That wouldn't be broken at all!

- Elite Missions. Catacombs (a good one for the veterans) Realms of the other gods: Dwayna, Meladnru, Lyssa. Areas like FoW and UW. Orr, but i guess this is GW2 terrirtory
- Drascir, but im guessing again thats what GW 2 will revolve around
Theres so much they could do with the game, but i think they are trying to get GW2 out as quick as they can to make money. Because think about it, Guild wars can't be making that much money atm. I mean people with 99 characters buying character slots isn't going to keep it funded for the next couple of years. Its a shame, because it would be cool to see some of the stuff that could be done. just check out the Sardalec section for amazing ideas on expanding GW

I agree, Eye of the North was a mistake. They tried way too hard to emphasis how much it bridged GW1 to GW2, and failed so badly at it. They should've released Utopia, which would've undoubtedly been the best campaign if they took all the good from the previous 3 and combined it into one. The asura were obviously going along with the aztec theme from the beginning, so boom theres your introduction of a new race. Could've left it at that, have it out by the end of Q4 2008 instead of the beginning of it. I'm sure there must've been a lot of ground work established for Utopia, if only they kept it at that.

I hope ArenaNet produces some more content available through the online store, in the form of epic dungeons/areas (gogo Fortress of Jahai, expanded arena/ab maps)

Yup. And they'll be too busy to care about GW2 after 3 years and for GW3 after another few years. They've already got your money for that game - why should they care?

It doesn't seem they're getting a whole lot done in their obligatory ~40 hours a week at their job.
GW1 was abandoned about a year ago, get over it.

That's like saying get over the fact that you are dead. It's an obvious lie. GW1 hasn't been abadoned. Just that GW2 is more time-consuming at the moment. Besides, if GW1 was abandoned, why is there monthly tonics and weekend events still?

kanyatta has a bad definition of dead/abandoned. He thinks Diablo 2 is dead, when it is like going really REALLY strong still, so..
GW isn't abandoned, it just isn't the focus.

Anet hasn't abandoned GW. they have ONE dev dedicated to it. s/he can't do everything in the world that all of us want.
Anet is working on GW2. get over it people. GW2 needs to be worked on in order for it to be as successful as GW1. they aren't going to hire a brand new development team for each project and leave everyone that started out with GW1 still working on GW1 when it isn't making the money it once did. it doesn't make business sense. some of you are too young to understand that and some of you don't care, but that's the way it is. live with it.

So. if there is only one developer working on GW for crying out loud hire ANOTHER ONE or TWO. There must be someone who needs a job in computing. They don't have any cash flow to pay for it, then charge us for the new content, a one time fee I can live with. We need things in this game now not in 2 years when GW2 is finished. If they don't come up with something soon there are not going to be many people left willing to play GW2 anyway. My feelings on what we need are:
1. More areas to explore with new quests.
2. More elite areas.
3. A merchant exchange where we can drop off things we want to sell and set a price. If someone wants it they can buy it from the merchant at the price we set and we can stop buy later and pick up our money.
4. Storge for pets and party favors and treats that works like crafting materials.
5. At least one new PvP area. Since I don't do it much I'll let more experienced players say what it should be. But I do think we need one.
6. A few dungeons thrown into all the existing areas just to spice up the maps. I know there are places that were intended for them and nobody got around to them.
7. An intermediate elite area like Sorrow's Furnace for the people who just are not up the the elite areas yet.
Put all that into a package and I would buy it on all 3 of my accounts. Why should we pay for it when we already bought the games. Well, because there is only one developer on GW now and we want more. And we will only get more if we are willing to pay for it. We don't pay a monthly FEE so in order to get more we need to pay more. Frankly. I would rather pay in incriments like this than a monthly. So, Anet take your foot off my throat I'LL PAY! I'LL PAY! I'LL PAY!

Sweet Jesus, they do 5 things a month. That's amazing. Along with our "every other month" skill balancing, which means sometimes 6 things happen per month. Especially when 2-3 of those just involve "Double Skill Cap XP" or "Double Champ points" which takes all of 19 seconds to implement.
I respect that we still get like, 5 festivals a year, but almost everything for every festival was done 2-3 years ago. All they really have to do is just add the previously made update back in.
